Q:When should I register for a class?
A:Register as soon as you know you will be able to attend. Most classes have a limited number of openings and fill up quickly.

Q:Is there a certain number of students required to hold a class?
A:Yes, most classes must have at least 4 to 6 students to hold the class.

A:Yes, 18 years old, in most classes.

Q:How much is required for a deposit on a class registration?
A:1/2 the tuition is due at registration. The second half of any tuition payments is due no later than ten (10) days prior to the first day of class. If a student must cancel after the second half of tuition is paid, refunds will be made on a case-by-case basis.

A:If you cancel at least 10 days before the class start date, your deposit will be refunded.

Q:How may I pay for the classes?
A:Payments may be made with cash, check, or money order. We also accept payment through Pay Pal which includes a credit card option.

Q:How much is tuition and when is it due?
A:The costs will vary. Some classes have an additional materials charge, and for others the materials charge will be included in the tuition. 1/2 is due at registration, the balance is due at least 10 days before the class start date.

Q:What are the lodging options? Is it included?
A:There are many lovely places to stay in Van Buren County including campgrounds. See the Visitor Info page. Lodging is not included in your fees.

Q:Are meals included in the tuition?
A: Meals are not included. You'll find several unique and yummy eateries within the county. See the Visitor Info page. You may also bring a sack lunch to most of the classes.

Q:What are class material fees?
A: Instructors may have specific materials they want students to use in their class. Individual fees for classes, requiring materials more costly than can be covered by tuition, will be noted on a class-by-class basis. Additional fees for materials will be collected before the class begins, and are payable with the second half of the tuition, insuring adequate supplies and materials for each student. This will vary with each class. Check the class page.

Q:Do all classes charge material fees?
A: No. Some classes provide the materials, others have a supplies list that you will bring to class. Student supplied supplies and material lists for each class will be provided to students through individual mailings, as well as on the Villages Folk School website.

Q:Will my material fees be refunded, if I must cancel my registration?
A: No, unfortunately, since the supplies will have been ordered for you. However, the supplies will be yours to be used for another class with the instructor or taken for your personal use.

A: If you are unable to attend a class, please call and notify both the instructor, and the registrar.

A: Well mannered seeing-eye dogs and hearing-ear dogs are allowed. Ask the registrar at the time of registration.
