Tong Making Workshop

This workshop will introduce you to the basics of making Forge Tongs. We will cover the techniques of making tongs using three methods ranging from simple to more complex construction. This workshop is intended for students who have some forging experience and good hammer control. We will concentrate on the forging of smaller tongs which are more useful to the projects which you are working on and we will cover several styles of jaw configuration. This will be an intense workshop forging tongs all day. You may be able to complete two or three pairs of tongs to take home.

Class Fee: $100 includes coal & all materials

Note: The blacksmith shop will be "Open Shop" on Sunday for those who want to stay over and practice techniques learned on Saturday, but no 'formal instruction' will be offered.
