Karen Bevard was born in upper New York State, but moved to Iowa at the age of 5. She resides in Keokuk with husband, Larry. She is the proud mother of 3 and grandmother of 3 boys. Karen and Larry have always been interested in history and genealogy, visiting historic areas and museums as they travel. When Karen found out that she had Native American ancestry, she began learning more about the Iroquois people from whom she descended. She also saw the need to share what she had learned with others. She has worked with Chris Campbell to form Two Bears Living History. She hopes to help others learn more about Native Americans – who they are and how they lived – through displays, authentic artifacts, teaching and crafts.
