Amah Lou Schreiber, Instructor

When Amah Lou Schreiber retired from being an old-fashioned school librarian, raising her children and chasing cattle there was a void that needed to be filled.  Drawing material from over 60 years of marriage and family life, Amah Lou has become a spinner of tales – some even true!  Her stories are as diverse as her audiences and she has appeared in schools, churches and historical sites across the United States.  She has been a featured storyteller for the state of Kansas, Arkansas and the Ozark Folk Center.  Her stories have taken her to New Zealand and across Europe.  Amah Lou graduated from Truman University and UMC.  She was the 2009 Grand Marshall in Clark Co., MO and recently retired from church music after 72 years.  She is currently the Media Specialist for Harmony Community Schools in Van Buren County, IA.
