A 1 day - 6 hour workshop beginning with a demonstration of a head and shoulder portrait from live model. Those attending will then participate by practicing techniques discussed during morning demonstration. All work will be done from a live model. Using photo reference material will be discussed. Skill level for workshop- beginner to advanced. Basic drawing knowledge preferred but not necessary. Instructor will give each participant individual attention during afternoon session.

Materials List: All materials can be found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels Stores. Lew & Cornell Soft Pastels (preferably the 72 piece set.) Minimum set of 24. (this is the least expensive set of soft pastels on the market I recommend to start with.) Paper- Canson Pastel paper 1 sheet each of colors #Steel Gray, #Olive Green, #Sand ( paper comes as 19"x25" sheets. Cut to have 2 sheets 12"x16"/ save scrap to test pastels colors on ) Masonite drawing board (purchase 1/4" board @ lumberyard - cut to 16"x20") to support paper. 3/4" painters tape (blue masking tape) Fresh wipes for cleaning hands Paper towels Portable easel (I will have 3 easels available)
