Still Life in Soft Pastels

A 1-day workshop beginning with a demonstration from the instructor and discussion covering four basic elements of painting.  The remaining time is devoted to hands on work by students with individual attention and guidance given by the instructor.  Students have the option of working from the still life set up provided or from an object/photo they wish to bring to class.

Note: Instructor requests that students register at least one week prior to class day.

Time: 9:30 AM - noon, 12:30 - 3 PM  (bring your own lunch for 1/2 hour break)

Location: Cantril Township Hall 

Class Fee: $55 plus the cost of materials

Class Size: 3 minimum / 10 maximum

Soft Pastels recommended: 
Set each of:
Prismacolor Nupastels
Conte’ Pastel Pencils (optional)
Set of Rembrandt (considered semi-hard pastels)
Unison or other soft pastels
Paper – 3 sheets of MiTentes Canson paper 9”x12” or 12”x16” in medium color (no white or extreme dark colors please)
1” wide masking tape
Fresh wipes or baby wipes
Paper Towels
Small rag towel
Masonite drawing board (to support paper)
Table easel or other type that can lean forward a few degrees (optional)
